Oh, but, today really just put in into perspective how terrifying it was going to be in Summer's class for the semester. She hadn't been in Summer's class today, of course, but she'd managed to trip over a chair and bust up her ankle all the same—in a murder mystery simulation.

When she'd known good and well that it was just a simulation.

Meanwhile, there was Summer's class promising that sometimes they'd have to defend themselves.

The embarrassment hadn't truly set-in during class but, by the time Julius carried her back to the dorms, Elli was well and truly embarrassed. Goddess, but what an idiot she'd been!

All she'd had to do was stay seated and yet…

"Thank you again," she said, feeling the back of her neck flush. "Ah, it's just down here—room 212."

Yesterday's conversation with Wayne had lingered in the back of her mind throughout the night and today, well, she'd had class and then laundry to do, and then she'd wanted to go out for a walk...

But now, now Elli was settled down on her bed, sitting cross-legged as she poured over two calendars--one from her home, which she'd brought with her, and one from here. Her birthday, Spring 16th, was on May 8th in this world, so now that they'd figured that out, she wanted to figure out the birthdays of her friends back home.

And possibly the rest of the town, too, because the town wasn't large and, truthfully, she was friendly with everyone and once she started thinking about it, well, it just seemed unkind to leave people out and possibly miss their birthdays...

Elli started with the Summer birthdays since she knew that Popuri's birthday was on the third, which meant that was coming up right away, but she didn't know how soon 'right away' really was in this world...

Math wasn't her favourite thing to do, truthfully, but this seemed important.

"So," she said, working through her calculations, "that would make Popuri's birthday on... June 28th! Oh, good, I haven't missed it... now, who is next... oh, of course, Harris' birthday is on Summer 4th so that would make his birthday... July 1st!"

This was deeply weird.

"Only one day apart but now they're in different months!" Elli laughed.
